The first Woombie prototype was created when mother and nurse Karen Barski found herself in need of a solution to help her newborn sleep safely. After many sleepless nights, Karen took to her grandmother's sewing machine and created the very first Woombie swaddle - and it worked!

Karen is a graduate of St. Vincent's College of nursing and earned her BSN from Sacred Heart University in 1994. With a thirty-year nursing background and five kids of her own, Karen identifies the needs of parents and babies, which always brings her to the drawing board to design new innovative products.
